Wellness Wednesday

Since there is NO way to know if something as mild as a stuffy nose and sore throat is related to a cold or COVID-19, strict guidelines have been created to slow/eliminate spread of Corona virus in our schools.

When calling your child in sick, please provide as much detail as possible. Any student with symptoms that COULD be related to COVID-19 will receive a follow-up call from the nurse to review the return to school rules, which include:
Note from a doctor explaining the students illness is related to another illness (for example: allergies, strep, flu, or asthma)
OR
Negative Covid-19 test (student would likely be out 2-6 days while awaiting test and results)
*PCR testing is recommended, not rapid or antigen
OR
Stay home for 10 days (this assumes the symptoms WERE related to Covid-19. . .  and if the child has improved symptoms and is fever-free for the last 24 hours of the 10-day period, he/she can return on day 11).
Please note: Even if your child is 100% remote, the school nurse is required to follow-up with reports of illness.
