Important back to school information:
Welcome back! The health services team is so happy to be able start another school year with you all. As you know, there are many changes to the health offices this year. We have listed a few updates below:
-Check your child’s temperature and signs of COVID-19 daily. Please use as a reference the attached “Daily COVID-19 Symptom Checklist.” If you answer yes to any of the symptoms or questions, you will need to keep your child at home and call your pediatrician.
-Every parent must have pre-planned arrangements should their child become ill at school. Families need to provide the school with at least four emergency contacts, individuals who will be able to pick up a sick child in a timely fashion (within 30 minutes).
- Wearing a mask or face covering is the most important strategy to contain this virus. A face covering must be worn by all individuals in school buildings, on school grounds and on school transportation even when social distancing is observed.
-Since students will be eating in the classrooms, it is important to note that all schools are now peanut and tree nut free.
-There is also a new requirement from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health that requires all students to obtain the flu vaccine and submit documentation to your school nurse prior to December 31, 2020. Please reach out to your school nurse if you have any questions and we hope your student has a great, safe and healthy school year!
